Did Someone Take Away Your Confidence?

Did Someone Take Away Your Confidence?

Last week I had the honor to serve on a panel discussion at the virtual Charitable Gift Planners Conference and talked about how to build confidence for planned giving discussions.

Let me start by saying all of us struggle with confidence in some area at some point in our lives. Many of my clients come to me thinking that they have lost their confidence. Often, they believe that their boss, peer, or possibly spouse is to blame for “taking” away their confidence.

Confidence is a belief in oneself, and no one can take that from you. Confidence is gained when you stop telling yourself that someone took it from you. Confident people believe in themselves and have a positive mindset.

It is essential to retrain your thoughts in order to improve your confidence and meet your goals. You can take six positive steps to regain confidence today if you:

  1. Remove negative self-talk

  2. Drop the Imposter Syndrome

  3. Stop comparing yourself to others

  4. Grow your skills

  5. Change your mental state

  6. Become your own cheerleader

Joyfully,
