Are You Reviewing 2020 and Reflecting on All That You're Thankful For?

Are You Reviewing 2020 and Reflecting on All That You're Thankful For?

Or, are you struggling with thankfulness due to many dark clouds in your way?

Some of the darkness in our fund development world includes:

  • Loss of jobs

  • Loss or decrease in benefits

  • Health concerns

  • Increased pressure to reach unreasonable goals

  • Elimination of team members

  • Stuck in a job that no longer feeds your spirit

  • Working from home with the whole family 24/7

  • No way to reasonably meet donors face to face

  • No travel

  • Feeling unsettled on what is meaningful work to you

  • Being uncomfortable due to a crossroad and a need to make a decision in your personal or professional life

  • Not yet seeing a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel

I am here to share with you that it is ok to be feeling out of sorts.

You have traveled through nine months of fear, confusion, and frustration, so being thankful may not be at the top of your list.

If you are at a low point, I propose a daily practice of thankfulness can help to move you from the bottom of the barrel funk to taking baby steps toward seeing the world where the dark and heavy clouds are lifting.

What is one thing you are thankful for today? Maybe it's your family, a pet, sunshine, food in the refrigerator, your health?

If you are having a tough time finding gratitude and expressing thanks, then take me up on my offer for a free consultation (https://nancybeardcoachingllc.com/booking), and in 45 minutes, we can decide if I am the right person to help steer you to clarity, decisions, and action. If you want to wait until January, go ahead and get on my schedule today.

I found a poem that I want to share with you, and I hope you can use it in your work:

Be Thankful
Poet Unknown

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Thankfully,
Nancy Beard
