Are You Making the World a Better Place?
Why did you select to work in the non-profit sector?
Did you craft a career in non-profit to do your part to make the world a better place?
Was it because it made you feel good or because you could do something that made someone else feel good?
The good news is:
If you are cultivating relationships with people who want to give charitable gifts -you are making the world a better place.
If you are leading programs that give a helping hand to families until they can stand on their own-you are making the world a better place.
If you are raising funding to bring music to children-you are making a difference in the world.
How are you being called to make the world a better place?
I coach many women who feel called to make the world a better place but they believe they are doing it at the wrong organization.
Many feel that there is such a heavy load on their shoulders and they are no longer making progress with their work.
The first question you might want to ask yourself is:
Are you passionate about the mission of the organization where you work?
And then, ask:
Do you jump out of bed excited to take on the tasks in your work day, or are you dragging to make it through each hour (I heard a few of you saying no one jumps out of bed with excitement).
Did you set out in your career to make a difference in the world but something changed along the way?
Was there a curve in the road and you are now working for an organization where you can no longer see the mission?
Are you struggling to find where you fit into the sector?
Are you thinking of leaving non-profit and going to for-profit?
If you have 30-45 minutes I would love to chat with you about where you are in your career and where you want to go. If you are ready to solve this problem book an appointment and together, we can create a plan for you to find your place in the sector.
As a fund development practitioner with twenty-five years of non-profit experience, I am here to help you find your place--where you can joyfully make a difference in the world!
