Do You Want to Feel Better?
Are you tired of not feeling like your best self? Have you been struggling with some thoughts that are weighing you down?
What do you do when troubling thoughts arise?
Do you eat, drink, dive into Facebook and observe other people’s lives? Or, do you listen to the thought and observe the feeling associated with the thought?
Sometimes it is easier to distract your mind and not focus on the troubling thought and hope that tomorrow it will go away. But guess what—it doesn’t. The troubling thought comes back the next day and the next like gale force winds, preventing you from feeling your best and being joyful.
A tool I use in coaching to help clients feel better is called The Model:
C - Circumstance (which is always neutral)
T - Thought about the circumstance
F - Feelings associated with the thought
A - Actions taken or not due to the feeling associated with the thought
R - Result due to action or inaction
You can use the model to observe your thoughts with any situation when you want to feel better.
